The Timberland Work Boots Company’s ascension in the rocky footwear industry was sometimes shaky, but savvy marketing, excellent products, and extraordinary luck eventually turned an obscure boot maker into a worldwide symbol of rustic stylish. In the 1980s, the company extended globally first into the Italian souk and then later on entered into many other countries. Timberland boots became a choice of every household through a mishap of fashion, outwear and accessories has also became identical with superiority, reliability, and a revisit to nature. All along, the company also became renowned for its devotion to community service.
In 1918, Timberland founder Nathan Swartz began his shoe-making career in Boston, Massachusetts, as an apprentice stitcher. He started his career by learning this trade on his own with hard-work and willpower. Then, he ultimately became the proprietor of the company. Swartz and his sons continued to make shoes and boots for many manufacturers, and in the 1960s they produced the first truly waterproof boots. The innovation came by fusing soles to leather uppers without stitching. In 1973, the Timberland work bootsname was born. Although boots are designed for hiking and mountaineering, they are popular as a primary element of fashion. The Timberland Company also has many items for sale in the apparel market including watches, leather goods, eye ware and other goods.
The name started as the brand name for their original waterproof leather boot, but when the boot popular, the company name was officially changed to The Timberland Company. Throughout the next couple of decades the range of products produced by this company grew to include casual and boat shoes and then clothing; all meant to reflect a rugged outdoor style.
Since the 1990’s, Timberland boots have risen in popularity and taken on a new urban image. The boots always is functional and useful as trail and hiking wear and the urban jungle is not the first wilderness that comes to mind when we see a pair of boots.
